Building Compliant Model
2028 Launch
New York's Statewide Freelance Isn't Free Act requires strict contracts and payment timeline protections for independent contractors. Combined with ABC Test enforcement in certain sectors and aggressive labor oversight in NYC, New York is one of the most complex gig markets in the country. We're building a model that earns the right to be here.
Here’s what we want to say plainly: YoZombie exists to be fair to gig workers. Workers keep 100% of their pay. They choose every gig they accept. They’re never obligated to show up. That’s genuine independence — and it’s the same principle behind New York’s worker protection laws. We’re not adversaries here. We’re building something those laws can support.
We believe a model can exist that genuinely works for gig workers, for businesses, and fully satisfies New York’s legal requirements. Building it right takes time. We’re targeting 2028.
